Ingrid Robson from Ravenglass will by accompanied by around 40 of her furry friends when she gives the Austrians a taste of traditional British bears.

Mrs Robson, 56, has been making, repairing and collecting teddies for years and she will be one of the star attractions at this year’s remembrance of childhood festival.

“I lived in Austria for four years through my husband’s work and while I was there I learned a lot about their bears,” Mrs Robson told the News & Star.

She sees day trips to seaside resorts as a typically British thing to do, and her bears will be fully kitted out with deck chairs and rubber rings.

She used to sell them to friends and family and had a thriving business, but when health and safety regulations put a stop to it, she began collecting bears instead.
